Consulting & Advisory Services
Your Welding Problem Isn’t New to Me.
Failed qualifications, stalled certifications, supplier disputes, audit findings. Nearly 40 years in, there’s not much I haven’t untangled.

Practical Help, Without the Corporate Wrapper
When you engage me, you get me. Not an account manager fronting the meetings while a junior engineer does the actual work. An International Welding Engineer with nearly 40 years in the industry, on your problem directly.
I work with project teams, fabrication managers, and engineering leads to understand the actual problem, not just the symptom. Most engagements start with a conversation. I’ll ask blunt questions, give you a straight assessment, and tell you what I think it’ll take to fix.
The scope is whatever the job needs, from a single welding procedure qualification or a pre-audit gap analysis against ISO 3834 or AS/NZS 5131, through to multi-year quality system implementations, supplier quality programmes, and embedded welding engineering roles.
I provide welding consulting across Australia and internationally. Remote advisory work covers procedure reviews, specification development, and documentation audits. Site visits are arranged where the work needs eyes on the job, and sometimes a helmet on.

Services
What I Can Help You With
Practical welding engineering delivered by someone who has spent a career doing the work, not just advising on it. Ordered by where the demand sits right now.
Vendor Assessment and Development
Supplier capability verified against AS/NZS 5131 and ISO 3834 before you commit, with a development path to close the gaps.
Learn moreIndependent Technical Review
A second set of expert eyes before you commit. Often a viable and cheaper path exists where you were told it could not be done.
Learn moreDesign For Manufacture
The cost of a weld is set at the drawing board. Joint design and detailing reviewed before fabrication to strip out labour, consumables and rework.
Learn moreWelding Management System
ISO 3834 systems that control defects and open the door to work you are filtered out of. Increasingly the gate to structural, pressure, rail and defence work.
Learn moreProcess Optimisation
Most welding cost lives in the process, not the wire. A leaner process that holds quality and takes shifts, not cents, out of the job.
Learn moreWelding Issue Resolution
A weld that keeps failing, worked on the floor. Graham isolates the real cause and gets you back to sound welds fast.
Learn moreCustomised Training and Mentoring
Training built around your work, your standards and your team, from welders to supervisors and engineers. Capability where it cuts your reject rate.
Learn moreFailure Analysis
A weld failure is a systems failure. Root-cause investigation across industries and materials, with findings that prevent recurrence and support any claim.
Learn moreExpert Witness
Independent welding engineering evidence for disputes, claims and litigation. Clear written and oral evidence that holds up under cross-examination.
